Great news at last!!

Well to be frank - i cant believe what im about to say, the last few weeks have been the hardest most terrifying weeks of our lives....no ups, just down down downs, he was in such bad shape we nearly ended up on ICU...for those that saw him only you will truely understand. It is impossible to describe the pain and discomfort he was in, so lets put it simply - i thought we had lost him...there i said it plain and simple....gone. But no, my son the AMAZING Daniel Beamish lives to tell the tale - he is here and wants to be here, NOTHING will get him!! The nurses, doctors and I are all astounded at how far he has come...in little over a week he has gone from that to being home most of the weekend, eating BBQ's and jumping (yes i said jumping) on the trampoline, ok so he hasnt got his full energy back and isnt able to walk far due to stifness in his legs...but come on he is AMAZING!
Now for the medical stuff, his liver still isnt doing to great :( His ALT and AST are up in their 1o0's (which they havent been since he was a baby) and his Bili is still high at 68 (however it was 158 last week) but his albumin and other LFTs seem ok and he is holding up, still a wee bit yellow-ish....we are still unsure where the Leukemia is at right now, they had it down to less than 2% however they had to "stimulate" his cells when he was so poorly to "kick start" his body and so they could of "kick started" the bad cells too (being leuekmia )...lets hope this is not the case...he is due in theatre nxt wk (wed) for another bone marrow biopsy which will give them a better idea. Also, it is yet to be decided wether or not to do round 4 as originally planned....docs are unsure wether Daniel could take another round or if that alone could have such a negative effect that it sends him into liver failure...the other option being to finish treatment now and then wait..........wait to see if it returns, which is a scary option too, neither being our choice. I am actually glad that its upto the docs to decide togther because i have every confidence that whatever decision they make will have Daniels best interests at heart.
The FAB news is WE ARE COMING HOME!!! Yeah got o come back every other day for bloods/platelets etc but we actually get to spend the nights all togther (at least for the time being anyway....)
As always thanks for keeping upto date with him and im so glad today is a good day and the news is positive. xxx

That's wonderful news Liz, I'm so pleased you have all had some time at home away from the hospital. It sounds like Daniel is doing brilliantly.
