Christmas Eve Eve!

Firstly let me apologise for not updating more regularly - and for those of you that do "check in" from time to time - thank you! Im sure you will all apprecaite how busy the few months are leading upto christmas and ours have been filled with lots of things to keep us busy.....I have a few bits of things to tell you so here goes...
My had been having some issues with her health and had to go for some tests in the last few weeks and so the whole family has been on tenderhooks...the good news (that we got last Thursday) is that things are fine, mum is fine and still intending on being around to mither us as an old old woman!
Secondly, Daniel has made his first "star" appearence as a Little Lamb in his Christmas Nativity! After initally being told that "he will not be getting a part due to the fact he cant sit still"! he ended up being a lamb and sitting beautifully might i add, they did some singing which he enjoyed although admittedly he spent most of the time with his finger up his nose (and the video we took proves this) oh how he will HATE that video when he is bringing home the ladies!
The whole "not sitting still" thing leads me to a dilemma i am having with myself, firstly he is only 3 and is FULL of energy and secondly how do i expain to his teacher that while he is full of energy and running around - he is WELL, having had the experience of many friends of mine, i know that whilst Daniel is eating, running around and full of energy he is doing well and infact i suppose i kind of encourage it.....something which the teacher would never understand - so i just smile, nod and say "oooh full of energy" and leave it at that.
The kids are getting very excited for Christmas and Daniel refers to Father Christmas as "Farmer Christmas"!! he has seen him on several occasions and at several parties and each time has asked for a "Fireman Sam Bike"...we told him he only gets pressies this year if he gives up his Dodi, so we intend to pack them all up and wrap them and put them under the tree for Father Christmas to take and leave pressi's in there place....lets see how he manages.
Medically Daniel is doing well. He still continues to put on weight (all be it slowly) and had his 3 year developmental assesment - where the health visitor said he had perfectly "normal" development for his age and tested him drawing, jumping, talking, with colours etc.. (oh cue funny story here.....
*Health visitor - "do you love you Mummy"
Daniel - "Yes"
HV - "do you love your daddy"
Daniel - "yes"
Daniel - "sometimes daddy chases me around"
HV (smiling) - "arghhh does he Daniel"
Daniel - "yeah, then he throws me on the floor and kicks me in the face"!!!
HV - "oh, erm.....
Me - He has a very active imagination...(how do i explain the bruising - low platelets!!! ha ha)
Well shock - horror! But i think she found it funny in the end and was able to tick the box that said "can say 4 or more words in a row"!
Anyway back to Christmas, my hubby has been a diamond today and while i battled with people in Asda (are we in for a seige or something?!) he cleaned the Kitchen, Bathrooms and sorted my washing, after i came home we sorted the rest of the house and i headed to the cemetary with my mum and the kids to say "Merry Christmas" to dad and put some pots on his grave. As i stood their i held Daniel and looked to the sky and said "say Merry christmas to Grandad" - Dad would of loved all that, the fact we all went, the fact we all got out and the kids "washed" the grave...Christmas is a time for remembering, but he was my dad and i dont need it to be Christmas to remember him.
I will leave you with that thought and assuming i dont update within 2 days (come on this is me!) i bid you all "A HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A HEALTHY 2008!"
xx

See, I promised I was coming back to comment!
I love the photo of Daniel as a little sheepie! You'll have to send me my very own copy.
Now come on, I have seen Daniel play with Daddy. Next time I am over there I am going to make sure he has a helpline telephone number for the next time Daddy beats him up! LOL!! Hee hee. (ahem, any social workers or health visitors reading this, I'm only joking!!)
Big hugs to you all, cant wait to see you again.
Love Sam
